Waqar Khan, M.D.
Waqar Khan, M.D. of the Lone Star Heart and Vascular Center has been providing state-of-the-art cardiology services to the local communities of northwest Houston since the last 15 years. Among his numerous awards and honors, Dr. Khan has been named one of Houston Top Docs every year since 2004 by H Texas Magazine. Dr. Khan is board certified in Cardiology as well as Interventional Cardiology and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has extensive experience in peripheral vascular interventions, coronary and carotid artery angioplasty and stents. Dr. Khan is one of only a few cardiologists trained to perform the revolutionary Carotid artery stenting procedure designed to open blockages in arteries supplying brain circulation and thereby avoiding the potential for stroke.
Lone Star heart and Vascular Center now provides comprehensive care for the treatment of varicose veins including RF ablations and sclerotherapy. Dr. Khan holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. His internship training was at St. Louis University Medical Center, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. Upon the completion of a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, he completed additional fellowships in peripheral and coronary interventional cardiology at St. Elizabeth's Medical center-Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Louisiana respectively.
Dr. Khan serves as the Medical Director of the Lone Star Heart and Vascular Center located at 400 Holderrieth Suite #104, Tomball Texas. The clinic provides cardiac consultations and advanced cardiology tests such as echocardiograms, vascular studies, nuclear stress testing, pacemaker evaluations, varicose vein ablations and vein sclerotherapy. Dr Khan performs advanced cardiac and vascular procedures at some of the area's best hospitals in Spring and Tomball.
Stephanie McGee, PA-C MSPH
Stephanie McGee, PA-C MSPH joined LoneStar Heart & Vascular Center in October 2014. Stephanie earned her Bachelors in science in biology from High Point University in 2007, her Masters of Science in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2011, and a Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Arcadia University in 2014. Stephanie has work experience as a research biology aide and a pathology technician.
In addition to her Physician Assistant Board Certification she is also certified in Adult Cardiac Life Support. Areas of interest include women's heart health and wellness, vein sclerotherapy for varicose and spider veins.
Alexander Trujillo, MD
Dr. Trujillo recently moved to the Tomball area from Lubbock, TX where he finished two fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology from Texas Tech University Health and Sciences Center. He graduated from medical school from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California in Tijuana, Mexico in 2005 and completed his Internal Medicine residency program at the University of Arizona. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is experienced in heart catheterizations, coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, nuclear imaging, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, and implantation of pacemakers. Dr. Trujillo is bilingual in English and Spanish. His other interests include heart failure and coronary/peripheral interventions. In his spare time he enjoys sports and time with his family.
